Warriors book series review

 Warriors by Erin Hunter is a book series about a bunch of cats with their own civilization in the forest. I read this series back when I was younger, and have just started to get back into them. 

In Warriors, there are 4 groups of cats; Thunderclan, Riverclan, Windclan, and ShadowClan. Thunderclan is known for their bravery, Riverclan is known for their swimmers, Windclan is known for their speed, and Shadowclan is known for their deviousness. The clans can be compared to the different houses of Harry Potter. Each clan has their own leaders, 2nd in commands (deputies), medicine cats, and warriors. Leaders and 2nd in commands are in charge of keeping everyone in line. Medicine cats are there to prevent and treat injuries. Warriors are in charge of the hunting and protection of borders from cats of other clans.

Most of the stories revolve around some kind of dispute between the clans; sometimes a cat from one clan has attacked one of another clan; sometimes one clan steals another clans’ food supply, as well as much exploration and drama.

The first book starts out with the main character, Rusty, who is a domestic cat, at home. He one day decides to wander out, where he meets cats from the thunderclan, and decides to join them. I’ll avoid giving up too many spoilers for now, but a lot of interesting things happen with Rusty. 

There are 104 Warriors books total. When I was younger, I think I read about 30-40 of them, but I look forward to getting back into them. If you enjoy somewhat simple, action-packed books, I would highly recommend the Warriors series by Erin Hunter.

My Book Review of The Women

  My review of the book The Women by Kristin Hannah Oh My Gosh. I love this book so much. If you know me or my typical book tastes at all you would probably think I’m lying when I say I love this book. Marina reading a historical fiction book is pretty much unheard of. However, despite my typical love for romance, romantasy, or dystopian fantasy, I am so glad I branched out and read this book.  It is set at the time of the Vietnam war after America joined and it follows the life and feelings of Frances “Frankie” McGrath after she decides to join the war efforts as an army nurse. This was my personal favorite part of the book because I loved hearing about her experience learning how to be a good nurse, finding lifelong friends, and helping so many people. There was lots of action is this section because of her placement near the heart of the fighting so I was never bored. Book review of A Mango-Shaped Space by Wendy Mass

Do you ever get worn out by reading? Maybe because the books you read are too difficult to understand and take a lot of mental energy? Or maybe you just want to kick back and let your mind rest. If you like easy-to-read books with good character development, then this might be the book for you! A Mango-Shaped Space by Wendy Mass is a fictional story about a 13-year-old girl named Mia Minchell who has a condition called  synesthesia . Synesthesia is a phenomenon that causes sensory crossovers. In her case, Mia sees colors and shapes from hearing sounds and reading letters and numbers. Mia has difficulty hiding her condition and eventually must accept who she is and let others around her know. Throughout the book, Mia learns more about her condition and meets others like her. Grief is a large part of Mia's story, as she learns to overcome the past and move forward.
