Invincible
Hello all,
I decided that for the last blog post of the year that I would do a post on a series that I've been reading for most of a semester. During basketball season, I decided to read through all three compendiums of Invincible by Robert Kirkman, and I only recently finished it about two days ago. Over the entire time I was reading Invincible I enjoyed the interesting world development and also the expansive routes that the story took.
Invincible follows Mark Grayson who is the son of Nolan Grayson, a superpowered alien and also a secret villain. The story begins right as Mark is gaining his powers of flight, strength and durability. Mark stops a couple of small villains and then his dad reveals he intends to take over the planet for his alien race. This is the point where the story expands drastically and brings the characters into new worlds and dimensions. The rest of the series revolves around stopping the alien race that intends to take over the universe.
Invincible was a bit of a slow start because the first five chapters are mostly just a couple small time villains without much major plot development. That all changes later in the series and the story becomes very complex and very entertaining. I really enjoyed the series, and I hope that everyone will check it out.
If you don't like reading, Invincible also has a show out on Amazon Prime that follows the storyline directly and is currently about halfway through the series. Otherwise, Invincible VS is a fighting game with the same 2d style as Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. I haven't watched or played either so I can't exactly recommend them, but I assume that they're good.
Thanks for reading,
Alton
